"Beginning with the end in mind…"

What do vegetables, construction, and Lower School Van Gogh art projects have in common?

I planted my zucchini seeds with a picture in my mind of the perfectly sauteed vegetable that I would be cooking later in the summer and the aroma of a fresh garden meal.

We only started building on our campus after the architects completed the plans and drew up the blueprints and illustrations of what our beautiful, new buildings would look like.

Our Lower School art students first studied the famous works by Van Gogh or Mondrian before putting brush to paper for their “artist imitation” project where they painted in the style of the masters.

Each of these remind us that the best results come from having the end in mind. That’s what is reflected in our “Expected Student Outcomes”, keeping our missional ends in mind as we live out our daily educational experience with our students. From JK through senior year, we keep the three elements of our mission, and these specific end goals, in mind. Hopefully you will find this illustrated representation an encouraging and exciting picture of what success looks like for our students.
