Annual Fund

Annual Giving

The Annual Fund plays a critical role in helping MBCA fulfill our mission of Christ-centered academic excellence. Gifts to the Annual Fund are used to supplement tuition, which covers approximately 90% of the actual cost of a Mt. Bethel Christian education. Annual Fund gifts from parents, grandparents, friends, the Board of Trustees, faculty, and alumni are a direct investment in every MBCA student, and in the teachers who help guide their way.

2025-26 Annual Fund Goal Progress

MBCA Family,
It is our honor and privilege to chair the 2025-2026 Annual Fund. To be part of a school like MBCA is truly a dream come true for our family.
The road to parenthood was a long, hard one for us, and there were years when it seemed like we would never be blessed with a family of our own. However, the Lord answers all prayers in His own time, and our daughter, Lolly, is now in the 3rd grade and thriving. Each day, we wake up grateful for our daughter and all of the wonderful people she is surrounded by at school. Her teachers, her friends, and the families at MBCA are what make this a genuinely special place. As we look at the world around us and think about her future, nothing gives us more peace than knowing she is getting the foundation she needs to grow into a woman of strength, integrity, kindness, and most importantly, a woman secure in her faith.

Every family has their reasons for making the life-changing decision to send their child(ren) to MBCA. There are many ways our school is special; it truly is an environment of academic and spiritual excellence. Our faculty and staff are so loving! They know students by name, they make them feel important, they bring out each child’s own special God-given gifts and talents and they develop a love of learning with a rigorous and enriching curriculum. Our small class sizes allow our educators to focus on each child’s individual needs. Our school’s emphasis on spiritual growth is equally as important as our challenging academic curriculum. Christ’s love and faith are at the core of everything taught at MBCA. From learning simple Bible verses and stories in their younger years, to weekly chapel, to being taught what it truly means to have a relationship with the Lord and encouraged to live a life filled with His love and grace, our students are given the tools they need to build a spiritual foundation that will sustain them throughout their lives.

The Annual Fund is essential to our school -  not just our school but every private school. At MBCA, tuition only covers 90 percent of the operating budget. Annual Fund dollars help us attract the best and brightest faculty and staff, create a learning environment filled with cutting edge technology, support safety and security enhancements, and provide tuition assistance to those that need it. Your child benefits immediately from every dollar given to the Annual Fund, and every single dollar prayerfully given is a blessing.

The goal for this year’s campaign is $800,000 and 100% participation. Every gift matters. Over the next few days, we humbly ask that you prayerfully consider making a gift that is meaningful for your family. From our family to yours, thank you in advance for your support and partnership. It is a blessing to be surrounded by all of you.

With love and gratitude,

Jordan & Josh Cavallin

Annual Fund FAQs

List of 8 frequently asked questions.

  • What does MBCA's Annual Fund pay for?

In the broadest sense, the Annual Fund bridges the gap between the true cost of an MBCA education and the price of tuition. More specifically, Annual Fund supports our financial aid, faculty professional development, technological needs, new programs and services, transportation, and our endowment. We can offer a wide variety of programs for a reasonable cost because of the Annual Fund. When serving a population the size of ours, it is such and advantage to be able to offer programs that serve ALL our students - from the arts, to sports, to robotics, to news crew, to student government - and more! For example:
    • Annual Fund support allows us to keep our class sizes small and helps offset the costs of full-time paraprofessionals in lower school classrooms.
    • Helps us attract and retain experienced educators with a heart for Christ and a love for children
    • Contributes to MBCA's endowment, which helps ensure ongoing financial stability for years to come
    • Provides professional development opportunities for our faculty so they can continue to grow in their craft and bring new ideas and techniques into their classrooms
    • Makes high-quality, Christian education possible for families who would otherwise be unable to afford it
    • Provides a technologically-rich learning environment. MBCA has established itself as a leader in equipping faculty and students with 21st century technology to enrich and expand learning opportunities. Gifts to the Annual Fund allow us to continue this commitment to preparing our students to engage in a technologically diverse world responsibly and with intelligence.
  • Why doesn't MBCA simply raise tuition?

Raising tuition to completely cover operations could make MBCA's Christ-centered education impossible to afford for many families. MBCA, like many independent schools, strives for a reasonable tuition while also setting aside funds for tuition assistance for families who need it. Additionally, the Annual Fund gives room in the operating budget to respond quickly to emerging needs and occasions that arise during the current school year. These can include new programs, technology or equipment needs, and additional resources for students and teachers.
  • If I give to the Annual Fund, will I still be expected to give to the Capital Campaign?

While Capital Giving is never mandatory, you should know that Capital funds and the Annual Fund go to very different things. The Annual Fund, as discussed above, helps with Operating costs, while Capital funds are used specifically for facilities upgrades and expansion. Additionally, the Annual Fund is a yearly request, while Capital funds are only requested during the duration of that campaign.
  • What's the difference between Annual Fund and Capital giving?

The Annual Fund helps us meet operational needs for the current school year. Capital funds help us build and expand facilities.
  • I gave to the Annual Fund last year. Why do you solicit each year?

Funds raised in annual giving are used within one year of when they are raised and are used to support the school's annual operating budget. MBCA's budget runs from July 1 - June 30 each year.
  • Why should I contribute to the Annual Fund?

Apart from supporting MBCA through prayer and sharing with others the ways in which MBCA enriches the life of your family, contributing to the Annual Fund is perhaps the simplest and most important thing you can do to help. Your gift makes an immediate impact. As families choose to give back in acknowledgement of the school's impact on their families lives, our community grows stronger and more united. Giving also extends the Academy's rich tradition of philanthropy and acknowledges the heritage of support that precedes every family.
  • How much should my family give?

There is no single answer to this question, as each family's capacity to give is different. We simply ask that each family prayerfully consider a gift that is appropriate for them and expresses their heart for the school and its mission. Each gift, regardless of the amount, is important, valued, and necessary.

Annual Fund Versus Capital and Fundraising Campaigns

While there will be periodic appeals made for specific needs, the Annual Fund is an ongoing, annual vehicle to enhance the excellence of our Academy for which there is no other revenue source. There may be Capital Campaigns from time to time which are used to address specific construction or renovation projects of a long term nature.

The Academy is so very thankful to the many faithful and generous supporters, parents, grandparents and friends, who choose to make financial gifts to the Academy. Their commitments help us continue to build the highest standards and to achieve an increasingly outstanding facility. To honor our contributors, Mt. Bethel Christian Academy recognizes the following giving levels in the Annual Report of Donors.
