Service and Leadership

Middle School

At MBCA, our staff is committed to helping students learn and grow as followers of Christ throughout the school year. Learning to be servant leaders and sacrifice in humility and to develop good work habits will help students grow in character, wisdom, and discernment.
Middle School students are encouraged to grow as servant leaders through a variety of meaningful service and leadership opportunities. In bi-weekly small groups, students put Chapel messages into action by completing hands-on service projects that support local ministries. Through our House system, student leaders inspire and mobilize their peers to contribute to ongoing donation drives, helping to foster a spirit of generosity and community.
Each year, one academic day is devoted entirely to service. Students begin the day working on projects for local ministry partners and end the day participating in YouFedMe, a school-wide initiative where meals are packed for people in need around the world.
After two years of serving locally, 8th grade students have the opportunity to take part in an international mission trip to Costa Rica. Partnering with a local ministry, students complete service projects in the community and host local children broadening their understanding of global service and leadership.

The Eagle Service Program:
The Eagle Service Program is designed to cultivate a lifelong heart for service by encouraging students to actively engage in helping others both on campus and in the broader community. Through this program, students are empowered to take initiative, serve with purpose, and reflect Christ’s love in tangible ways. Whether through school-sponsored events, local outreach, or personal service projects, the Eagle Service Program provides students with meaningful opportunities to make a difference and grow as compassionate, servant-hearted leaders.
To support this growth, students are required to complete a set number of service hours each year:
  • 6th grade: 10 hours
  • 7th grade: 15 hours
  • 8th grade: 20 hours

  • US 101 - Rescheduled Sep 5th

We have an important update regarding our upcoming US 101 – Upper School & Beyond event. Originally planned for this Friday, the day before the long weekend, we’ve received feedback that many of you may be traveling and unable to attend.

In an effort to respect your time and give all of our families the opportunity to participate, we are rescheduling US 101 to take place as part of our Upper School Open House on Friday, September 5. Rather than holding two separate events on different dates, we have decided that integrating Upper School 101 with our Open House will allow us to be mindful of your time while still providing the most comprehensive picture of the Upper School journey. This will allow you to hear directly from our high school students and recent graduates, ask questions, and gain valuable insight into the Upper School experience and beyond.

We will be sending additional details soon regarding the Open House schedule and how US 101 will be included in the itinerary. For now, we encourage you to mark 8:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 5 on your calendar. If you already plan to attend, you can RSVP at this link, and additional details will follow in another email. We look forward to seeing you there!
