Boys Varsity Defeats Providence Christian 70 - 60

Mt Bethel Boys Varsity Basketball team defeated a solid Providence Christian team 70 - 60 at Home in front of a nice crowd. The Eagles came out playing well taking a 17 - 11 lead at the end of the 1st quarter behind Junior Roman Avery's 7 pts and freshman Cadien Hudson's 6 pts. Cadien continued to stay hot in the 2nd quarter as did Roman and Peter Julius got more involved and at half time, Mt Bethel lead 42 - 28 behind Cadien Hudson's 18 pts in the first half. Freshman Justin Lamisere had a nice And - 1 play at the basket to give Mt Bethel a commanding lead in the 3rd quarter. But Providence fought back and cut the lead to 10 pts but Senior Nate Robinson went 4/4 from the foul line late in the game to seal the deal. Balanced scoring with 4 players in double figures. Cadien Hudson lead all scorers with 24 points and 6 rebounds. Sophomore sensation Peter Julius added 20 points, 12 rebounds and 3 blocks. Junior Roman Avery chipped in 15 points hitting 3 - three pointers and Senior Nate Robinson with 10 points and 6 assists. Junior Alex "Goose" Kuimjian played solid defense as well as Junior Alex Hedden. Good team win! Mt Bethel improves to 1 - 0 on the season.
